Wall-Mounting a Flat Television
Most households own a flat television these days. This entertainment device provides superb quality pictures, sounds, and design. Its sleek feature makes it a perfect space-saving home decoration, especially when mounted on the wall.
If you want to mount your flat television on your own, you need to have a good understanding of applicable building and fire codes. You must also have basic skills in drilling, cutting, and installing. Nevertheless, if you are comfortable about hanging wall ornaments or mounting wall shelves, then wall-mounting the television can be a simple task. You need to use a power drill, drill bits, measuring tape, level, stud finder, pencil, soft cloth, screwdriver, sockets, and ratchet, among other things. Additionally, put on gloves, goggles, and other safety gears. You also need to buy the correct type of bracket that can hold your television well.
You need to identify the location where you want the television mounted. If you want it hung above five feet, consider a tilt mount. Use tape or pencil to layout the size of the device on the wall. Attach the mounting bracket by laying the television face down a soft cloth or carpet. Secure the bracket by tightening the screws or bolts. Locate your stud framing with a stud finder and mark it. Place the wall bracket on the wall where the stud framing is and screw the bolts into it using a drill or socket and wrench. Pick up your television and secure it properly into the bracket attached to the wall. If your unit is quite heavy, ask for help when mounting it. To hide the wires, you may need to install an outlet, re-route the wire and cover it with a moulding.
