Quality Christmas Cards Make a Difference
You might be used to the fast-paced momentum of modern-life but with along with this convenience, there also comes question marks over quality. People are so used to living in a throwaway society that it is difficult to appreciate quality and craftsmanship. But it may be that some things are worth protecting. When you work outside or labour outside or in a messy or dirty environment you cover your hands, your feet and your bodies to protect against what you are doing. You may use protective covers to guard against wear and tear. This is using disposability to retain the quality of yourself and to keep your clothes intact. You value yourself as someone worth keeping.
Everybody has received Christmas cards for example, where they are simply throwaway. They are usually boring designs on low-grade paper that quite often will not even stand up on the mantelpiece. They are, in short, disposable when they could equally be a symbol of a sentiment worth keeping. Disposability has its place. It is convenient and can make your life user-friendly. However, some things should been seen as worthwhile and not just chucked in the bin. Modern life is supposed to make things easier for us, to give us a better quality of life but it is not supposed to mean we forget that sometimes, it is worthwhile, recognising and focusing on quality. A card, for example, sent on flimsy throwaway paper and with a generic meaningless design is missing the point.
